UNIMAID Student Allegedly Murdered by Military Man in Maiduguri
A graduate of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Mohammed Sulum, was allegedly shot and killed by a military man last Wednesday in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The 22-year-old graduate of Physics was said to have given the soldier a lift in his car but the officer shot him before he could reach his destination and stole his car.
The father of the deceased, Konto Sulum, who narrated the incidence said: “The soldier who shot my son thought he was dead as he dragged his corpse out of the car and zoomed off. But then Mohammed struggled to crawl to the roadside near Asita Hotel in Bolori Ward where a good Samaritan called the attention of civilian Joint Task Force and they tried to rush him to the hospital but he died before reaching the hospital”.
Mr. Sullum lamented that his son is just waiting forhis National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) call-up letter before the ugly incident happened.
Unconfirmed reports said that the military man has been arrested and been questioned at the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri.
